Il a la possibilité de redescendre directement sur Valménier, commune du sud de la Savoie dans la Maurienne. Elle se trouve dans une vallée suspendue drainée par le torrent de la Neuvache et culminant à plus de 3000 m au Mont Thabor.</ins></div></td></tr>

Nous suivons la Clarée jusqu’au lac éponyme. Comme ce fut le cas tout au long de la semaine, le sentier n’est qu’une immense flaque de boue. Montée lente et agréable sur des croupes herbeuses et fleuries. Que de tapis de fleurs admirés pendant ce séjour ! Le sentier louvoie entre les rochers. Le lac de la Clarée s’étire aux pieds des névés. Sous le soleil, le paysage est magnifique. Nous nous régalons. Une voie romaine, en pierres bien rouges, affleure de l’eau. Nous l’empruntons avant d’attaquer une suite de rochers jusqu’à un deuxième lac, le lac du Grand Ban (2498 m) d’un vert émeraude qui joue avec la lumière. Un panneau indique que nous changeons de département. Nous passons des Hautes-Alpes à la Savoie par le Seuil des Rochilles (2459 m), un très ancien passage alpin reliant la vallée de la Maurienne et la vallée de la Clarée. La voie romaine se poursuit jusqu’au col de la Plagnette (2525 m) très ouvert lui aussi. Sur notre droite, des ruines d’anciens fortins du XVIII{{sup|e}} siècle résistent aux temps. Au loin, des alpinistes s’accrochent </ins>à <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">la paroi de la Roche Noire. Descente sympathique dans ce large goulet qui ouvre sur la vallée de Valloire. Villages, maisons, routes réapparaissent. À nouveau une montée dans les alpages. Nous intéressons un troupeau de vaches qui s’avancent vers nous. Déçues de ne pas trouver leur berger, elles se détournent, ornant le sentier de belles bouses. L’une d’elle attira le pied gauche du chef ! Porte bonheur !</ins></div></td></tr>

Interminable, inconfortable dans de chemin très pentu défoncé par de gigantesques travaux, envahi d’herbes folles glissantes, et de poussière à gogo. En bas de la station, nous nous regroupons afin d’arriver tous ensemble aux chalets de l’Arméra peu après 15 heures. Enfin du réseau et c’est la ruée sur les portables !</ins></div></td></tr>

La pluie toujours aux aguets ne nous lâche pas ! Accueil surprenant. Il faut briser la glace ! Chambres très mignonnes au décor chaleureux, équipées chacune d’une douche et d’un lavabo. Salon en bois sculpté où l’on peut se détendre et suivre le tour de France. En revanche, l’obligation de sortir pour passer des chambres à la salle à manger est incommode, surtout quand il pleut ! Excellente cuisine dont une sauce aux cèpes, séchés avec soin par le père de l’hôtesse. Un régal !</ins></div></td></tr>
